Hi -

I've recently bought a Galaxy 2.3 Auto, (2002) everything is fine apart from the heater which seems to have a mind of its own.

When I put the blower on and turn the knob to the footwell position, it blows upwards towards the screen, when I turn the knob to the windscreen / footwell postion it blows in the footwell (not screen).

When I turn the knob to the windscreen, it seems unsure what to do and blows in the footwell until it gets bored, then the windscreen.

Somtimes, if I leave it in the footwell position, eventually it might blow in the footwell after 10 mins or so.

Anybody got any ideas - tried Ford who just gave me a "stupid" look as if to say I didn't know how to work the unit.

It seems to like blowing more on the screen than anything - which is annoying having how air blown in my face all the time

Thanks.

Could be the bowden cables slipping or the ratchet's/gears on the control flaps worn and slipping? or maybe it could be you?

I had some similar problems a while back where the controls wouldn't respond apart from the fan speed. I found that if I removed unit then cable on the right hand-side that has the little lever on, everything was OK. I guess it was down to a bad connection. Sometimes I do find when turning the dial that the actuators don't always move that quick.

Hope this helps
