Service Light - How To Turn Off

Somebody on ebay is saying :

 

"On winning this auction i will E-mail you the info on how to reset your Ford Galaxy service light. You need no tools to do this!!!!!"

 

How is this possible ... Is it possible ?

Apparently, you may need to open the bonnet for a while before doing it so that the car thinks that you've done something (not as smart as it looks, you see). This is probably standard Ford mechanic procedure.

AFAIK, this only works on the older Gals... I think you have to use VAG-COM on the newer ones..

I stand corrected, apparently lol - there was a post on hera couple of weeks ago where someone said they had reset theirs with VAG-COM, so maybe you can do it either way?

It tells you how to reset the service indicator in the Handbook!!

 

Definitely works on facelift models. Using VAG-COM is definite overkill for this !!

Turn ON the iginition key

 

Release the Odometer reset button

 

Turn the CLOCK adjsuter button to the RIGHT

 

Reset Complete.

On my 2006 (Mk ll) model this DIDN'T work

On my 02 Ghia, I made the mistake of holding down the trip computer reset button and wondering why it wouldn't reset the service light. What i eventually did was:

 

With the ignition OFF hold down the odometer reset button

 

Whilst holding the odometer reset button switch the ignitio to ON

 

Job done
