Hi, I have recently bought a Galaxy 2.0 GLX on a N reg. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the switch on the dash is for that has a picture that looks like heat rising from the centre of the car.

Also there is a knocking noise from the front end when driving slowly over rough roads. I have replaced the drivers side drop link and it hasn't made any difference. Has anyone had a similar problem??

Thanks

The button is to switch on the rear cabin heater, you should have a set of controls above the rear pasenger seat on the passenger side, one controls the fan speed the other the heat output, turn up the fan to the highest speed and then press the button on the dash, you should now hear the roar behind the rear seats! the heater unit is a recirc unit and is located behind the rear passenger side quarter panel

best thing is to use this heater after you have demisted/de iced the front screen as it draws heat away from the front heater

front knocking is most likely the anti roll bar drop links, do a search on the topic, there are pictures on one of the posts

Thanks for that, I've tried the heater switch out and it works fine. The engine runs a bit cool though so I might have to replace the thermostat.

I've replaced one of the drop links on the offside and it didn't make any difference. I might replace the nearside one and see if that works.

Thanks for the advice

I've cured the knocking. Turned out to be the track rod end. Only cost
