paulmpaciorek Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Right then. Does anyone know how to enable this feature (Seat belt warning display) with Vag-com. Is it just a case of "switching it on" or do you have to change the seat belt "thingies" (technical term !!!lol). Paul Quote
seatkid Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Didnt know that Galaxy had such a thing. Dont think there are any seat/belt switches fitted. Probably only available on Pheotons (or whatever theyre called..) Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted January 25, 2005 Author Report Posted January 25, 2005 Maybe I am wrong, but I think I saw this display listed in my owners manual *where fitted "but I am far too lazy to go to my car and have a look right now !!!I will have a look tommorow.Paul. Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted January 26, 2005 Author Report Posted January 26, 2005 Checked the owners manual and it says that this warning light and tone is fitted to vehicles.........in selected countries !!!! which ones I dont know. Quote
GSMGuy Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Paul, check your seat belt bucles to see if they have any wiring coming from them... If they do, then it may be possible.. Mike Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted January 29, 2005 Author Report Posted January 29, 2005 No Mike ...no wires so I guess we cant do that !!!!So lets try something else like the horn sounding when you lock or unlock the car.Any ideas ????? Quote
buford_t_justice Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 To activate the seat belt warning light, you need to add "2" to the first part of the software code for the Instrument panel. For example, my Galaxy is a 2003 TDi Manual Ghia. Original software code "13401". To activate the warning light just recode it to "15401". This software code is designated as XX / X / X / X However because there is no other cabling associated with this it does little more than light up for a few seconds when you first start the car. Regarding the other stuff like the anti-hijack feature or a plip when the alarm is armed/disarmed we can forget it. For this you need access to the Central Convenience feature and we just aint got it. I also have a 2.0 Bora Sport and I've activated this using VAG-COM but we need the correct module. Quote
GSMGuy Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 Cheers Hijacker - off to try now lol.. Where did you get the code from? I thought the later versions of VAG-COM were supposed to "suggest" codes or show a possible list... But I can't get it to on mine, although it did show a few on the instrument cluster of my brother's A4.. Mike Quote
buford_t_justice Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 I got the code from http://de.openobd.org/ VAG-COM does suggest quite a bit of info when it's connected to a true VW / Audi etc.. but not when on the Galaxy. I guess the collaboration with VW and Ford hasn't resulted in all the electronics being made available. The Central Convenience module being a case in point. When connected to my Bora you get plenty of info. Quote
GSMGuy Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 And what a waste of time that seatbelt reminder is lol... Mike Quote
