chromedome Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Hi I have a 2001 2.3 Zetec with manual air conditioning. The air coming out of the vents is not very cold, is this normal or may I have a problem. With the recent hot spell we just had the air conditioning did not cope and we had to open the windows instead. I've had other vehicles with a/c, including a Toyota Previa, and the temperature was definately cold. Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Air Con on mine is really freezing. You can get a stiff neck from it... Quote
chromedome Posted June 2, 2003 Author Report Posted June 2, 2003 Thanks for the replies. At least I now know that my a/c should be blowing cold. The car's in for a service in the next couple of weeks so I'll get them to check it over then. I wonder if they will crush my sills this time, now that's another story. I'll keep you posted. Quote
chromedome Posted June 16, 2003 Author Report Posted June 16, 2003 Apparently my condenser has gone but fortunately is covered under the warranty. Got to wait for the part before the dealer can fit it. I'll report back when the job is done. Quote
Nick Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I just replaced the condenser on my '97 Galaxy. It was the cause of a slow leak because it was rusted! You will need to be re-gassed/oiled after the work is done - then you will be cool! If Ford do the work they will charge you 2 hours labour, plus gas, plus the part, plus VAT, around Quote
chromedome Posted June 19, 2003 Author Report Posted June 19, 2003 Got my condenser replaced, FOC, and I now have nice cold air conditioning. Thanks for everyones comments on this subject. Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Does anything get stiff now????!!! Quote
Guest Rick Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Not sure about the Galaxy, but I had a Volvo 850 a few years ago where the relay that supplies power to the A.C. had come adrift. Pushing the relay firmly back into its connector cured the problem. Quote
