paulmpaciorek Posted January 22, 2005 Author Report Posted January 22, 2005 Cheers for that Mike. .......well would you beleive it ,had no luck with the interface finding modules on my cars ,so the supplier ,a very helpful SK Pang calls me up to give me a walkthrough of the system...........I plug it in and the bloody thing only starts finding the modules. So we are now in business !!!! Easy when you know how.LOL Now here are a couple of questions 1) where do I find the fault codes and part numbers on TIS and can anyone shed any light on the below fault.GSM guy has suggested it may be a stuck blower impeller due to lack of use (I found it to be unplugged, maybe the previous owner got scared when he heard the ticking and saw the smoke lol !!!!) VAG-COM Version: 500.4-UD Control Module Part Number: 7M3 815 071 Component and/or Version: HEIZG. B/D5W 0001 Software Coding: Work Shop Code: 5 Faults Found:01414 - Combustion-Air Blower (V6) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications01414 - Combustion-Air Blower (V6) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications01414 - Combustion-Air Blower (V6) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications01414 - Combustion-Air Blower (V6) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications01414 - Combustion-Air Blower (V6) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications and is this little bugger an easy fix? Control Module Part Number: 038 906 019 J1 Component and/or Version: 1,9l R4 EDC 0000SG 1087 Software Coding: 00002 Work Shop Code: WSC 000201 Fault Found:17664 - Engine Coolant Temp Sensor (G62): Open or Short to Plus P1256 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent I also think it would be a great idea if everyone who has experience of using an interface would post the things you can do with this and if there is anyone in the North east who needs to plug into mine they are more than welcome. GSMGuy Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 Paul, the fault codes and part No's are not on the TIS, fault codes are translated by VAG-COM, so that's how you get the info that the blower, etc is faulty.. Part No's are on the Ford Microcat, of which I am struggling to get a working copy... Re the blower, you have 5 faults as it will try and fire up 5 times before "locking it out" so to speak, I had 5 faults for my glowplug. Re the temp sensor, as it's showing an intermittent fault, it may just be a loose connection... Have a look on the TIS to locate the sensor. HTH Mike Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 Now here are a couple of questions 1) where do I find the fault codes and part numbers on TIS What with you having a Sharan wouldnt a copy of ETKA be better for you? Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted January 22, 2005 Author Report Posted January 22, 2005 Yeah it probably would be better, but as the gal and sharan are all but identical the TIS should suffice.......but if you know anyone who will do me a copy of ETKA...I will supply the disc and SAE. RegardsPaul Quote
GSMGuy Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 While we are asking... Anyone got a working Microcat?? :) Mike Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 Your more likely to find rocking horse poo or fairy's at the bottom of our garden than a fully working copy of the Microcat, my version of ETKA has to run at eye strainingly high screen resulution :) Quote
Ivor Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 I finally got around to plugging in my VAG-COM last night. I got it primarily to sort out my aux. heater on address 08, but it won't find it! It finds other controllers, but not the heater  I'll try again tonight. Quote
GSMGuy Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 Ivor The aux heater is at addr 18, not 8, assuming it's a typo.. Doublecheck that the multiplug for the aux heater is all the way home, it's a tricky little bugger!! PS did you get that package? Mike Quote
