Guest thobbs Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Can anybody on this site please let me know what I need to get my hands on to add SAT/NAV to my wife's 2004 galaxy currently we have a Ford 6000 head unit (the single CD player jobbie) which I would very kindly rip out and replace with either 6006e (the 6CD changer head unit) or possibly, depending price put in a SAT/NAV system, trouble is; I have heard that their are two possible SAT/NAV systems and I would like to know that I can look have the SAT/NAV working whilst also being able to listen to the radio or CD player... Please can anyone help with a model number and a possible price of all the pieces I need like the antenna and CD-ROM, plus anything else??? Currently have the multimedia package if that helps??? Thanks in advance ;) Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 do a search on the topic it has been covered a couple of times, and are you sure it's for the wife? being a woman she's not afraid to stop and ask for directions ;) Quote
Guest thobbs Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 You are so right! I wanted SAT/NAV, she said it was a waste of money as I can read maps, we have a copy of Autoroute and she isn't scared of asking for directions... DAMN THAT WOMAN!!! Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005  and the worst of it is, that she's going to out live you and remind you that she's so much better at directions than you are for the rest of your days ;) Quote
markie Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 What about a Tomtom Go SAT NAV? Cheaper, much less hassle to fit with arguably better maps and options and you can put speed camera database on it? I agree it proably doesn't look as nice as the proper one cosmetically. Look at my thread about how to install one here Tomtom Go Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Much better and cheaper to buy after-market; the TomTom Go system is fully portable from one car to another; can get it for under Quote
GSMGuy Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 I have an offer code somewhere to get TomtomGo for 360 delivered from pc world. I love mine, I have had Garmin ones and PDA/pocket pc based ones and the Go is the absolute winner! Mike Quote
Guest Scott Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 I run TomTom on my PDA ( easy to justify  ) with a bluetooth GPS.Easy to remove & carry with you when you leave the car... ~ Scott Quote
