Timing Marks

Could someone please tell me where the timing mark inspection hole is for the crankshaft timing marks for a 1999 1.9TDI. :rolleyes:

 

I have scoured mine and can only find a rubber that covers what looks like some part of the clutch actuator. :)

It is on the top of the clutch housing, underneath the coolant pipe that goes to the heater. You will not see it unless you remove a lot of wires and pipes. I never saw mine until today when I finalised the engine for removing the cylinder head, and it is still difficult to see.

Also, the Haynes shows two marks to line up but all I found on my tdi was a small punch mark just to the left of the flywheel when viewed from above.
