Guest SimonH30 Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Ok I know its been covered many times before but..... We have a 99 V 2.3 Galaxy. When we bought the car it came with 2 non remote keys, obviously both having the little chip in it. Couple of days ago missus goes to her mothers, and amazingly losses one of the keys ( i have the other )..............so now we are left with one key, which she has......and it frightens me to death that she will do it again. So my question(s) are :- 1) Will Ford ( my local ford is Dagenham ford ) be able to supply me with a new programmed key(s)....if so whats the likely cost. 2) My car is central locking, but i have no remote fob, can i actually obtain 2 replacement remote fobs, its a pain not being able to just press the key to open the doors. Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 You will need to get the new keys cut and recoded into the system, this can be done by either your dealer or an independant locks smiths with the correct equipment, I recently had a new set of non remote keys made by a locks smiths on my door step, the same company can provide remote key, check in your local Yellow pages for any locks smiths in your area that can cut and program keys they may be cheaper that the dealers?
