dipsomaniac Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 This hasn't happened for around 6 weeks but today after around 40 miles the autobox wouldn't change through the gears (1st to 4th) until around 5000 RPM when usually gear changes are after 2000 RPM. It also changes early when changing up (4th to 1st). It was OK again after switching off the engine and switching back on but happened again later in the journey. Has anyone else experienced this or know what the problem might be? Is it in sports mode? I am hoping it is an electrical/solenoid problem and not a total overhaul. I did have the box serviced around 12 months ago and know that have a slight oil leak. Quote
chromedome Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I had problems with an auto box on my previous Galaxy. Would ony select first gear, switch off and switch on all OK. Other gear change problems, fouth straight down to first when slowwing down, etc. Turned out to be a faulty electronic gearbox controller. No problems after change. Quote
dipsomaniac Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 Just picked car up from autobox specialists. They added 1 litre of transmission fluid, put on diagnostics and test drove, I dropped car off at 10:00 picked up at 12:15, don't know how long it was worked on - Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 ..but any difference to the 'box after it was topped up? Quote
dipsomaniac Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 It does seem a bit smoother but have only done a couple of miles sofar. Will be doing 280 miles tomorrow so will know more then. I can't find any reference to those fault codes, they don't seem to be OBD II codes. Quote
