The one you've found is for Cruise control, even if you don't have it they still fit it. The actual brake light swithc is above it, you will need to take the bottom of the dash out. One is coloured blue, the other black. I had to replace mine and found that it was gunked up, only a couple of quid from Ford for the switch.

I replaced my brake light switch last week only to find that the new one had instructions on how to adjust it! Remove switch (top one) pull out plunger to it's stop - it is on a ratchet. When you refit it, it should automatically adjust to suit your pedal travel. New switches aren't expensive anyway but it may be worth a try. It worked on mine!

Thanks for the information her. I changed my Brake switch, but found that it did not improve. The switch did not set itself for my brake peddle.

I found that by using a screw driver I could adjust the switch to a level where it worked.

To do this depress the brake peddle and then run a screw driver up the brake peddle to the switch and then push the arm in on the switch. This can be done by feel and does not require the dash to be removed.

I was surprised by how the switch worked, in that the brake lights come on when pressure is taken off the switch. Hope this information helps somebody
