Abs Question

i am a little confused as to whether my galaxy has abs, been reading postings about lights on dashboard, never seen one, and tried it out last night and skidded down the road, fords handbook says that they are fitted as standard, how would i know if my car has them, it is a 98/99 r reg 1.9 tdi i think must be the base model as does not possess any luxuries, anyhelp would be appreciated

No ABS light, skidding (ie locked wheels) = no ABS fitted by the sound of it.
