Guest pnwheels Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 When you say car tripped out, did it seem as if the turbo suddenly stopped working?. i.e engine still runs ok but v.gutless Quote
Guest thecodfly Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 yep that is what happens feels like someone is pulling car back and it struggles on hills get over taken by snails lol so am needing a little help with this, did have codes read when first got car as temp guage not working came up with inlet pressure reduced but when engine revved disapeared, and when checked after did not come back? still dont what type of turbo i have though with or without wastegate :D Quote
Guest pnwheels Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Seems like wastegate problem. Check recent postings for testing wastegate operation. Also worth checking vacuum line to wastegate. Quote

Guest thecodfly Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 hi danny have not got round to look at it yet, been too cold, am going out this week to take onlet manifold off and giving that a good clean out to see if that works also will be looking at the turbo and the wastegate to see if that is clogged, will lt you know how it goesalso if you search under wastegate, turbo or maf you should get a lot more info Quote
Danny Boy Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 hi ya you had any joy looking at this yet. I lost all my turbo power again the other night. Pulled over turned the ignition of and then re-started the engine and it was fine? Completely confused?!! Not that it takes much! Quote
GaryM Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I'd lay bets on it being the MAF. I had one instance where I lost all power on a trip to Cornwall, happened at the hilly part. Lorries loved me, charged past them going down the hills and slowed them right down going back up. Getting dangerous in the end so pulled over switched of for five and fine afterwards. I was put off for ages in changing the MAF cos all the posts say if you disconnect it and things get worse that the MAF is OK and it was expensive. Tried alsorts and still was down on power. Watching eBay came across a cheap MAF. Found out why it was cheap, it was knackered but it so different in symptoms to mine I decieded to change it for a real one. For once I was pleseantly supprised by my Fraud dealer, Quote
