Guest ajc Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 In the 'Honest John' column in the Telegraph Driving section last Saturday, he reported that VW TDi engines should have their injectors changed at 80,000 otherwise they wear and cause wear on the cylinder bore causing the entire engine to fail around 150,000 miles. My TDi has done 130,000 on the original injectors and shows no signs of any smoking or poor fuel consumption. Should I be worrying? Is it too late to avoid the problem? Do I need to replace the injectors and if so how big a job is this and what do the injectors cost? Quote
