Philwalfc Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Hi,I,ve run into a problem with my Galaxy 1.9 TD. It is a 1999 V reg. The alarm that is fitted is a Laserline 291 Cat 1. When I press my remote control, it locks all my doors, but it will then continue to re-open the N/S rear door, lock it once again and then finally re-open it, leaving it in the unlocked position.Has anyone got any suggestions as to what is causing this problem. I have had the car for two years and it has only just started to happen. The alarm was fitted before I purchased the car, but it was done by a professional as I have the receipts. Thank in advance for taking the time to read this posting Phil Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Check the condition of the wires in the rubber gaitor where the cables pass from the B post to the door, the most common cause of faults in the doors and the rear hatch is due to the wires breaking and shorting out across each other! also check the operation of the internal door release lever, if this cant close fully it will cycle the door locking mech till it does then give up! usually in the unlocked position! neilb Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Does anything else fail to work? Does your clock work? I had this problem (but it was the drivers door) , and my clock and voltmeter (in the dash) went. It turned out to be a wire loose from the rear of the newly installed cd radio. Quote
Philwalfc Posted December 29, 2004 Author Report Posted December 29, 2004 I've noticed today that there is a intermittent fault on the front N/S passenger door as well. That door fails to unlock, but that happens very rarely, probably once in twenty goes. There are no other fault that I can see though. Quote
Philwalfc Posted December 29, 2004 Author Report Posted December 29, 2004 when you say clock do you mean the speedo or the actual time clock Quote
neilb Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 The actual clock. I am refering to an Alhambra tho, so it is different I think. For some reason the power backp to the clock failed due to this loose lead. Sorry cant be much more help. It might be worth getting access to the relevant door mechanisms/levers etc and give them a lube. Quote
