Ford Galaxy Owners Club

Hallo folks. I don't have a Galaxy but have just bought an 18 month old Focus 1.6Zetec. The bog standard Radio/Cd player 6000 RDS EON sometimes shows the message "1 HOUR" in the display when it is switched on. Local Ford dealers have been no use at all and just look baffled. The Ford Focus Owners Club site has no information either. Does anyone know what "1 HOUR" means and if or what I should do about it? Any help much appreciated. Stanno.

Mine shows this if you press the radio on button without the keys in. I assume it puts the radio on for one hour and then switches it off to prevent it draining the battery.

That's right. Radio can be switched on without keys in ignition and automatically switches off after 1 hour.

 My last gal had this...it took ages - and the usual hour for the head auto electrician of our local dealership to discover that the previous owner had removed the fuse for the ignition feed to the radio :(

It transpires that if a certain type of mobile is "combined" with the stereo, that a text message(I presume) could be left on the display screen of said stereo in the drivers absence for up to 1 hour after "he"? left the car...( :( too techy for a she :( )

I know this is an old thread but I might as well add to it instead of starting a new one.

I'm pretty sure I've blown the fuse for the ignition feed to the radio. Is this one of the ones in the dash or is it in line with the audio electrics?

(I'd look in the car myself but the wife's out in it at the moment)

To give a bit more detail (if it helps)... our Galaxy had a std Ford stereo in it (6000cd, from memory) but I replaced it a few weeks ago with a Kenwood unit with Ipod control. Just a couple of days after fitting it I was starting the car while simultaneously turning the stereo on and it went 'pop' and died. I checked the fuse on the head unit and the fuse for the stereo power and they were both intact so assumed I'd fried something inside the unit. I didn't think about (or even know about) a fuse the the ignition feed. Anyway I put the old 6000cd back in and it's now behaving as if the ignition's off all the time, i.e. showing the '1Hour' message and switching off after an hour.
