tim-spam Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 I've had the car for 4 weeks and found this forum a couple of weeks ago - excellent!I've read all about the water in footwell problems and now know what to look for - thanks to all. However, when I looked under the carpet under both front seats, there was no sign of any ECU's - just a couple of connectors and some wiring. Was the under-seat ECU deleted or moved on the facelifted models?I will be fitting a Brink towbar and electrics soon (I've already bought the towbar and vehicle-specific wiring kit) and have the following question: When removing the bumber, the body coloured trims below the rear light clusters need to be removed - is this just a case of pulling them to the rear of the car? I've read that these are somewhat brittle and need to be removed with care - are there any tricks I should know about?Once the towbar is fitted, I shall be fitting some rear mudflaps - I've already fitted the front ones. The genuine parts fit perfectly and fitting the front flaps was straightforward - so much better than aftermarket jobs. Seat charge around Quote
johnb80 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 The trims below the rear lights are a real pain. Having said that if you go carefully all of the latches can be successfully unclipped, it took me about 5 minutes to do the pair when I fitted my towbar. I found using a hacksaw blade with the teeth ground off and all sharp edges removed was ideal. Regards - John Quote
Andrew T Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Was the under-seat ECU deleted or moved on the facelifted models? Our 01 Facelifted Galaxy has the Locking and Window control unit there, but not the Engine Control unit. Although when we had a flood it put the engine fault light on, but it cleared the next day of its own accord. If they have finally moved it to a safe location, well about bloody time too! Quote
