Load reduction relay for the rear hatch, due to the distance and the load the rear hatch sticks on the wireing! it's there to reduce the load on it and the control unit

Well the control box arrived this morning yes as a previous post said very quick funny though fitting this new box also corrected my coutesy lights which where not working properly they now come on when unlocking the car'yippe very handy this time of yr. Now unlocking the car centrally only works via key in door do i need to get the keys re-programmed if so is that a ford dealer job the batteries are ok only replaced them 2 wks ago.

Thanks

Do a search on remote key programing, glad to hear it's all working ok with the new ECU plugged in :D to help stop the possabillity of it getting wet again stick some washers or such like uner the mountings to space it up off the floor

Talking of weather proofing im surprised the outer casing is not sealed for life the outer casing on the old unit just unclipped apart to reveal a soaking pcb. I did think of using washers but thought that would not raise it enough so i am gona instead attach it to the underside of the removable panel. anyway thank you for your input.

Hi, please could you tell me where you sourced your replacement central locking ecu, if it wasn't from a ford dealer?

Thank you
