Fault Code Reset,new Unit Or Truck Night Heater

can the mobile tuners who come round with the code readers to diagnose faults then clear and reset the computer to make this aux heater fire up or has it got to be dealer only ?.

if ford want 500 to put new heater in then would it be better to have a truck type night heater fitted instead ?

Martin - depends on the s/w and hardware they use - if it's just a simple code reader, then possibly not - if it's similar to VAG-COM then yes..

It is probably just the glow-plug failed. They are easy to change (4 screws) and can be bought from a VW dealer.

 

Ford say the units are not servicable, but show the exploded diagram of it on the TIS.....
