neilb Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 Hi. I have just bought a 2001 Alhambra 1.9TDi SE. It has (believe it or not!!) only a Radio Cassette head unit. My Qs are: Is it a Grundig Scala? If not, what is it? Also, I wish to upgrade/install a CD autochanger. Any suggestions on the best way to do this. Should I buy a new head unit altogether or can I run an autochanger from the existing one. Any recommendations on make? Thanks in advance for any help that is available. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 Don't knock radio-cassettes - some of us have many cassettes and don't wish to leave CDs in the car for risk of losing them to thieves! If you want to play CDs in the car, best bet is to change the complete head unit for a new one; don't forget that you will need the special adapter to supply power to the radio aerial in the rear side window (do a search if you don't know what I'm talking about). If you have the money, go for a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB unit :) Quote

Guest 53Galaxy Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 When I was was looking to change (plumped for Galaxy in the end) any Seat SE I looked at had a Radio cassette plus below it it had a separate single slot CD palyer, any way if your head unit has CD changer controls you should be able to add a head unit quite cheaply, do a search in Google for Seat CD changer and you should find one that fits Quote
