Testing The Aux Heater Glow Plug

hi

when i get this glow plug out what do you do to test if it faulty ?

ive got a multi meter, something about it making an open circuit.

what do i do with it ? thanks.

You can either check that it isn't open circuit with the meter, or Jusst connect it to the battery, and it should heat up and glow red hot in less than about 3 seconds, with it being an 8v plug.
