Hi all

Does anyone use a roof box on their Galaxy. I need to get one and was wondering what to go for. I've looked at the Thule Evolution 100 and it seems quite good. Anyone got any advise, comments or recommendations on roof boxes.

I got the Thule 100 last october - so far so good - no complaints. Although I need a stool and another person to help to get it on the car.

Looks like I'll go for the Thule Evo 100 then. Does it create much noise, difference in driving feel and fuel economy?

I used my old Karrite roofbox on my Galaxy for the first time at the weekend. Surprisingly little noise or fuel economy impact.

I'm using Thule Aero bars - expensive, but they really are quieter than the rectangular section ones, though you may need special fitting for the box.

I noticed there were 2 different types of bars, the ordinary and the Aero bars. Might be worth the extra expense of the Aero bars then if they are quieter as I will be using the box on long holiday type journeys where noise could become annoying. Hopefully, using Thule throughout I shouldn't need any special adapters.

I got my aero bars from www.skidrive.co.uk in Cambridge - 20% less than the High Street. Other internet sales but none I could find as cheap. I'd recommend buying the bars and box together, so the onus is on the supplier to ensure they're all compatible!

I never noticed any noise or differnce in driving at all - speeds up to 85mph , might be different in windy conditions . as for fuel consumtion - it not something I ever pay attention to. But it wasnt dramatic as I would probably have noticed.

I got mine from www.Roofracks.co.uk. Only reason was they were doing one key to fit bars and box.

Got the roof box and bars. Went for Thule bars and a Fapa box on the recommendation of the guy from The Roof Box Company. It was larger, cheaper and the quality is as good as the Thule apparently.

Tried it out today, you guys were right, no extra wind noise and no funny handling effects. All in all I'm a happy bunny.
