Guest anthonydddd Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 hi hope some one can help me i have a vw sharan 1.9 tdi 1996 and my electrics have started playing up my rear windscreen heater keeps blowing the fuse, the blower for the front windscreen will not work but the rear blowers work, the right indicator will not work but it does when on hazards and sometimes mt central locking will lock by remote key and other times it wont?????? here,s hoping tony Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Sounds like our having fun NOT! the rear screen could just be the wires in the rubber boot shorting out! it's a common problem due to the wires breaking under the stress of bending back and forth when the hatch is opened or closed! do a search on the topic it's been covered before! the front blower again could just be the fuse, the switch, the relay or the motor check the fuse and the relay and then check the motor is ok! you can get to it fairly easily if you remove the lower glove box, also check that the fan runs on all speeds? if it just runs on the fastest setting them the resistor pack is duff and needs replacing! the indicator could be the relay? according to Haynes there is one for each side? cant see that myself! but hey who knows? my bet is on the control stalk as for the central locking remote well it could be anything from a dieing battery in the remote? a dirty emiter on the remote (infra red type) dirty reciever (again infra red type) although the infra red remote system doesnt have much of a range and you really need to be direct line with the reciever for the remote to work properly! I hope that lots of some help to you? Quote

Masked Marauder Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 There are a couple of control units under the front passenger seat, just make sure they are dry. If they are not in there (the recess with the carpet over the top) then they have been moved and should be OK. Quote
Guest anthonydddd Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 thanks i think i may be close to solving the indicator problem as i said there is no problem with the wiring or bulbs as when i put the hazards on they all work.when i put the left indicator on it works fine and when i go to the relay boxes above the fuses and put my finger on box number 21 ican hear and feel it clicking and the indicator is working fine but when i put the right indicator on the same box clicks once then makes a funny noise but the indicator does,nt work does anyone think this box is the problem????????
