Eddy Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 I am just about to investiage a constant annoying rattle inside the drivers door. Sounds like a plate of metal is just lying loose inside the door. Any tips for getting the trim off without breaking anything. I have the Ford CD which specifies a special tool! Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 Kitchen spatula can be used (or DIY decorator's palette knife) - but be careful not to take the paint off the car with it! Quote
Denis Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 I managed with just a large screwdriver though several of the yellow plastic clips snapped in the process, possibly because it was a cold day. Could be worth getting some of the clips (10p each) before starting the job or else you may have to put the panel back with some clips missing which might cause more rattles! Quote
Eddy Posted December 13, 2004 Author Report Posted December 13, 2004 Yes, I have done it now, as you say with a few of the yellow clips broken, also there seem to be some black brackets at the bottom of the pannel which were less strong than the yellow clips, so these have broken also. Trim won't go back properly now. At least I solved the rattle, nothing more than a screw which was rattling about inside the trim! Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Another success story then. Glad you found the culprit. Quote
