2300 Zetec ( Facelift ) Service Reset

Hi,

 

Is it possible to reset the service indicator on my X reg 2.3 Galaxy ?? It's an auto and I've had it serviced by my dad ( who is a vehicle technician, but doesn't work for Ford !! ). The service history hadn't been filled in before I bought it ( ex-Hertz rental car ) so I'm not bothered about getting the book stamped either !

Do a search, I know there is an answer because I've done this myself but can't remember exactly how. It involves holding the milometer button down whilst switching on the ignition, but I think it needs to have detected that the bonnet has been opened and closed first. Have you looked in the Handbook? I think it's in there as well.
