Guest billybug Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Another bloody fault! We've had both lower wishbones replaced because the bushes were worn within the past year. We noticed a vibration at speed recently so I went and got the tracking checked, which was very out ruining the front tyres, we've had these replaced and the tracking reset but we've still got a vibration at around 40 to 60, which then goes off. We've also noticed a creaking sound coming from the front end sometimes. Any ideas???

Smilge Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Hi, anyone got any advice with this question? I have go the exact same problem. I would initially suspect the wheel balancing if the vibration occurs at a specific speed. Have a good look at the tyres for uneven tread wear and any damage and if they are fairly worn consider changing them. As well as worn balljoints in the front suspension check the wheel bearings and CV joints for wear. A reason for the creaking could be the above but also the top bushes in the shock absorbers. As you turn the wheel the shocks twist slightly and with a corroded bush, it will cause a creaking noise. Hope this helps
DrStve Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Thans Bleeno. The wheels, bearings and driveshafts I all checked before, Had all 5 wheels balanaced but no joy. Shocks is a good one. Someone else suggested worn shocks could eb responsible for the vibration so I'm going to check that out.
