Guest billybug Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 With the funny running problems lately, I was just wondering if our 99 S reg Ka 1 should have an ECU light, theres a space for it, and the handbook says that some have them, just ours never comes on. Anyone know if it should have one, or how I can check for it. Cheers
johnb80 Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Usually if there is one in a vehicle it will illuminate when the ignition is switched on and extinguish shortly after unless there is a fault. Some lowlifes remove the bulb or disconnect it if there's a problem and theyre selling the car. Regards - JB
Guest billybug Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 No it never comes on on starting, I was thinking I might remove the instrument cluster and have a look, just wondering if anyone knew, save me doing it!
Andrew T Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 It should say in your handbook if the light should come on with starting. usually they do, but I've known cars where it only comes on in the event of a malfunction.
johnb80 Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 but I've known cars where it only comes on in the event of a malfunction. That being the case, how would you know if the bulb had failed ????
Guest billybug Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 In the handbook it states that only certain models in certain countries have one fitted, which isn't much help really.
