Is it simple to transform a six seater Galaxy into a seven seater?

I am looking at buying a 2nd hand Galaxy and have found a nice one but its a 6 seater and I want a 7. Is it as simple as cutting out the carpet for the anchor points and getting an extra seat or not so easy?

I haven't really dug around to check that there are anchor points.

I would imagine that the anchor points are standard for all models. But I'm suprised that the carpet is cut only for 6 seats - you would need to check that the anchor points are there. On the seven seaters the anchor points are available should you only want to carry two seats in the middle row - effectively you move the two outer seats in from the doors, knock out the middle one, giving the passengers more elbow room.

What I would be more concerned about if I were you is where you get the seats from in order to convert to 7 seats. Have you got captain's chairs (i.e. do they all have arm rests on them)? I reckon that these might be too wide to slot another one in the middle in the second row - you had better check. Perhaps you could remove the arms but what would that look like?

Worst case scenario, you could be looking at replacing the middle row seats with three standard ones rather than just a single extra seat. The back row is obviously OK.

All the best. Blatters :)

This was covered some months ago - you need to check under the carpets to make sure that all the fixings are in place to take 7 seats - chances are that they are not, unfortunately. If they are, then you just need to buy the appropriate bits and another seat; really would be better to get a "proper" 7-seater in the first place.
