Guest Bungle Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Hi all,I came across this forum looking for a 12V adapter aswell. The RS web site I assume is RSWWW.com and the part is 478-4651, is this correct funkmiester? Is your PS2 still running ok off 9V? If anyones interested, I bought a GT-7022 7inch LCD display with built in TV tuner off Ebay for the display and a case like this one DVD case which hangs between the front seats. The case might be a bit small for the PS2, I'll let you know when I receive it Bungle Quote
Guest kemicalx Posted December 19, 2004 Report Posted December 19, 2004 Well, i built a 12v to 8v regulator the other day, cost a grand total of 4aud. It works fine, although needs heatsinking as it's rated to 1a, the ps2 pulls 2a on dvd spoolup then idles (with dvd running) at about 1.6a. Apparently the transistor i used is really good for 4a with adequate heatsinking. Quote
Guest Rob_Quads Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Sorry to dredge but couple of questions.. funkmiester -> Have you been running it with this 1.2A regulator without any problems? kemicalx -> How did you build a regulator out of resistors & Does it run fine on 8v? Quote
Guest funkmiester Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Nah, bugger didnt work, powered the ps2 but cut out when the disk started spinning. Ended up getting an inverter. works ok with that, hid the cable under the carpets..... Quote
