Ecu Unit

So when I get my laptop off Santa and my interface cable and armed with a download of VAG-COM....where can I find my ECU unit on my face lift Sharan Sport TDI.???Doesnt seem to be under passenger seat unless there is a plastic cover on top.

Anyone had any "bad experiences"using Vag-Com..i.e changing parameters and fluffing up the whole shooting match or is it ....dare I say it FOOL PROOF !!!!

no point finding the ECU wether it be under the seat or not! its the diagnostic port you want, depending on the model depends where it is? on MK1 Galaxy's its under the ashtray on top of the gearbox hump, on later models it's under a flap in the lower half of the dash, between the steering column and the drivers door, I would imagine it's in the same positions on a Sharan or an Alhambra

I will have a look for that port on my Mk 1 and Mk2 .Will they use different interface cables,if so is there a kit available that is compatable for the two ???

vag.com works on both my 2000 sharan and my fathers 04 galaxy ghia, both tdi

All modern vehicles use the same interface plug. It is DIN standardised.

Whilst many vehicles may use the same plug, they do not all use the same protocol and pin connections.
