On Board Computer

Hi all

 

My on board computer has gone dippy.It will only take one instruction at a time...turn off ignition....turn it on and it will change to next function.Is the stalk at fault ?? VW Sharan TDI Sport........and how can I tell what type of interface I need if I am going to use VAG-COM,where do I plug in the said interface ????
