Guest Turbo Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 My `99 TDI Galaxy has got front air con and possibly rear air con but it does not have the air vents in the roof, but just the "heater " on the rear left side. I have got a digital dash display for both front and rear temperature and if I put the ACC on say a high temperature the fan settings and air speed through the air front air vents and rear "heater" adjust to a higher level, eg, more ( warmer ) air blows out. I can set the rear up to 3c higher than the front. There is no adjustment possible from the rear, only the dash controls. There are seperate fan controls and temperature controls for both front and rear. Is it just front air con or not ? Ta, Turbo Quote
Guest fredt Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Front AC and rear heater unit if no roof vents, the electronic control panel does away with the roof mounted controls as it can control both heaters although I cant see why the rear heater unit cant be converted to AC, its only a case of Teeing into the correct pipes in the engine bay and the installation of an evaporator into the rear unit, a solenoid valve in one of the pipes controlled by a switch on the dash could isolate the unit when its not needed next project for the masked marauder maybe ? :D Quote
