Guest Rimfire Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Have just paid out a handful of cash to the local Ford garage for a diagnostic check and in return got a very unsatisfactory result. It then occurs to me that given a set of interface cables and the right software then it should be possible to carryout some form of checks. If so, then are there such items available and where can they be obtained. I have a Feb 2002 (51 plate) 90 bhp 1.9TDi. Hope ypu can be of help Best regards Quote

Richmond Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 There's a thread on here somewhere with a very good discussion of what software is available and what you need in the way of hardware. Quote

Guest Rimfire Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 TY for the responses but too late to make the bid. Have been in touch with others who sell these equipments but not clear what type to buy. Need to have a look at the test socket but yet to find. Anyone know where it is located? Does the 1.9 (90 bhp) TDi - Feb 2002 have a VW engine fitted? RegardsRimfire Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Rimfire. You should find the socket between the steering colulm and the door (lower dash thanx FredT !!)under the fuse holder door. Atleast thats where I found mine !!! Quote
HalfPint Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 The diagnostic socket on a galaxy 2.0 is under the centre ashtray.Just open the ashtray flap and take out the ashtray with a wiggle and it's a small oblong socket with about 7 pins in it.It's about the same size as the computer screen connection on the back of your computer.
