Guest ratherhaveanewone Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 You also need to make sure that the tyres are reinforced; not just the right size and speed rating John Quote
HalfPint Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 You have to have the tyres that are reinforced.1-for the insurance if you have a bash and they check the tyres you are shafted.2-these are heavy motors you need the reinforced tyres if you don't then you got it you will be shafted. Ivor_E_Tower Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Phone your insurance company first and ask them if they will clear you to use lower speed rated tyres, based on the fact that the car will not exceed their rated max speed anyway. If OK, get them to confirm in writing, OR write to them confirming details of your telecon. In principal there is no problem but may also depend on construction and use legislation and vehicle homologation regulations. Quote
Guest Crimz00 Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 I got the best price from http://www.mytyres.co.uk You will have to arrange for fitting but I saved about 40 quid on a pair. and got a well known brand! Quote
