jkspoff Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 My Gal's heaters have started whistling when above 3 LED's, (about half way) has anyone suffered this on theirs ? The noise sounds like its coming from behind the dash...... is it the fan, or is it a vent thats not fulling opening and therefore not allowing a perfect air flow???? Can I fix it myself, or maybe just put up with the whistling, after-all noone else ever whistles at me ! Quote
Topbloke Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 how new is the vehicle has the pollen filter everbeen changed if the pollen filter becomes blocked over time or in high dust conditions the heatermotor has a hard time sucking the air through , does the whistle change tone if you change settings from recirc to freshair, it could be a small vacumn pipe thats come off that moves the heater flaps up in the footwell  Quote
jkspoff Posted November 13, 2004 Author Report Posted November 13, 2004 Pollen filter changed recently, whistling does exactly as you describe, I think it sounds like the vacuum pipe you mentioned, is it a DIY job ? Thanks Quote
