Guest clanman Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Hi, my remote central locking has never worked, i have had it into my local dealer, but as it doesnt seem to be a 5 minute job, they havent bothered to look at it.the last time i had it in for a service, they said the key will need reprogrammed, failing that they will have to put it on the diagnostic machine to find the fault?is there anything i can try myself first? i have little convidence in there diagnostic machine as it failed to pick up the maf problem i had in the past, but i still get charged Quote

Guest ratherhaveanewone Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Mines a 2000 (new shape) Zetec i.e. just the key no remote at all Quote
RussT Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 Alarm Man (Ian) When you say easy to Fit, How easy, is easy. As I am not well up the Electrics field, but would be very intrested in purchasing one or these. As I have 97 Galaxy and my Key remote just drains new battreries when I put new ones in so it only works for about 20 mins. Do you have a diagram that I could look at before I purchase to see if i could manage to fit it. Regards Russ Quote

Richmond Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Any Moderators out there am i doing wrong by helping people out ? Don't point that question at me, it's loaded. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Because if he says you can not because it is selling in the forums he will upset some members, the ones you are "helping." If he says it is not a problem, help away, then the other users who want the rules enforced will be upset. So in your post, suggesting that your inital motive is not to sell, but to help, you put anyone who has to decide the answer in a bit of a spot. If I was a moderator (I obviously am not) there would be no question about my decision. Perhaps in future it may be an idea to help by pointing out what is available, and leave any other information about pricing etc to PMs. That way you get the best of both. Quote
Richmond Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 What ? As MM suggests I meant that by implying that your motive is to help others, you make it more difficult for a moderator to tell you that you can't do it. You could have asked the neutral question 'Am I allowed to offer goods for sale on the forum?'. FWIW I couldn't care less whether you do or not, so long as the forum doesn't become a small ads board (which was obviously not your intention). Quote
ALARM MAN Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Yeah get the drift Helping is why i joined having one myselfAnd people being ripped of by the Fraud dealers pi---s me offIf you know what i mean So will leave it at that if anyone needs help you know where i am Ian by the way i do a great range of......................... Quote
