My mum is about to order herself a brand new galaxy, we are not sure of what interior to go for and have been told black looks nice

She is getting a black 2.3 ghia and would be much appreciated if someone could post a picture of their galaxy with black interior and preferably with a black body also

Would be much appreciated

Thanks alot

I've got a black Gal with oyster beige interior. They contrast beautfully and there's a lot to be said for a light-coloured interior trim to make the interior more light and roomy. But obviously you have to be that much more careful about marks and stains. If I was starting again I'd definitely treat the upholstery with some sort of protective spray.

Fraid we cant have that interior as part of the deal from Ford

Also car will be used for going to the tip and carry around stuff to uni so needs to be a dark interior or will look terrible and dirty

Thanks anyway

Anyone got any pictures??

I'd head towards a Diesel not a 2.3, shed loads of wheelspinning torque and lots of empeegee's !!

shed loads of wheelspinning torque

Slight exaggeration......

I'd have to disagree with you, if I stand on the loud pedal from the lights I can get smoke off my tyres until it changes to 2nd. I think the torque from the diesel makes it a much quicker car round town. Remeber the ST220 (v6, 24V) in the Mondeo produces 270nM Torque at 4500 rpm, the 115 TDi in the Gal 330nM @ 1900 rpm from memory.

Get one of the better models where ESP and traction control will prevent the wheels from slipping.

One look at the fuel figures going less than 30 does the trick

I have a black galaxy with an anthracite leather interior (dark grey) and I think it looks great!

The only drawback is that whilst a dark interior is resistant to marks etc, it does need vacuuming regularly because every bit of dust, grit etc really shows up.

Like Ivor said, can't upload any pics yet because of problems with the site. But if you pm me with you email address, I am willing to email you some.

Engine Torque alone is pretty meaningless when talking about performance. Torque is merely the rotational force, the important measure is the rate of how fast work can be done which is Torque x Angular Velocity (force x speed). A 100g Hamster in a 700m diameter wheel could produce around 330nM of torque.

330nM at 2000 rpm is the same output as 110nM at 6000 rpm.

Agreed BUT when you're getting off the line the torque at low revs fits the bill nicely as it does when cruising. It may be a subjective thing but the 60 to 80 time seems very, very short and the engine barely above tickover.... well alright then 2500 ish.

My last car was a 2.9 Cosworth Ultima Estate, that engine was absolutely stunning performance wise, I can honestly say I don't miss it at all with this 1.9 TDi.

I have these strange visions of a hamster-powered Galaxy in my brain now.....

I think weve got a runaway topic here.......what was the original question again ??

BTW, I'm gonna try that with my hamster tonight, let you know how i get on. He's probably better than my fraud 2.3 engine.

LOL

Sorry to be boring but going back to the original topic I have got a Black Alhambra and black interior.

Looks great and hides the dirt left from the kids eating too many sweets and crisps!!

If you give me your e-mail address i'll send you some pics!

On the original topic of the black interior, make sure you see the latest brochure for the colours and model (it varies with spec) you want. I went for the anthracite (black) interior, yet to be honest most of the interior appears flannel grey. I think the newer models come with the trim being more of the same colour, certainly the 54 reg TDI I was in was all black with the exception of the headlining.
