Guest Andy Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 After chatting with the pirelli technical department it has been confirmed to me that if you use a tin of emergency tyre squirty cream that you must NOT repair the said puncture afterwards even if it has only been on the vehicle 1 day, therefore that "cheap tin" of "help" may turn into an exspensive squirt of GOO.... :D :D :D  Quote
Dave-G Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 :D :D And if you talk to ford technical dept, they would probably confirm that you should never ,ever, under any circumstances use honda parts for your galaxy :D  Quote
Guest stevebm1 Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 guess you never had a jack and spare wheel with you at the time?.most cars have these items as standard nowdays :D Quote
iainkirk Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Have you ever tried taking a Galaxy wheel off with the wheel wrench supplied with the car? If you have locking wheel nuts, it is actually virtually impossible, due to the angle of the wheel brace, which simply turns the lock nut out of the bolt head. Crap VW design yet again. Quote
GSMGuy Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Honda parts?? On the subject of tyrefix foams... I used to work at a tyre place, and according to Michelin... As long as the inside of the tyre is cleaned properly, using a solvent and all traces removed - it is not a problem to repair a puncture.. On another note, in my tyres on my Motorbike, I have something called Ultraseal, which is BMW and TUV approved - It's a liquid to actually prevent punctures! Don't know the ins and outs of it, but @ Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I though the issue with inflator foam was well-known. Oh well....I believe that the latest foams (or maybe its the removal solvent) do allow repairs to be made. Personally I'd always have a full-size spare wheel and tyre on board. Quote
johnb80 Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Not if you drive an MCC Smart car you wont !! Quote
Guest Andy Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I will ring several other major tyre companies and post the outcome, after you take the tyre of the rim by christ its a mess and a big sink/hosepipe would be needed to clean the white love juice out..... :D :D :D  Quote
