Guest mjp753 Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 My climate control seems to have developed a noisy fan. There has been a thread saying this is a fairly common problem but I couldn't find any detail on how to fix it? Would you have to remove the radio and to somehow unclip the climate unit for easy access? or is it more complicated than this in which case I might get some help. If I find it - is it a WD40 job?Thank you Quote
seatkid Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 I used a camera lens brush and the hose of the vacuum cleaner to suck the dust out of mine and it stopped squeaking/buzzing. (Don't overdo it with the vacuum though) Quote
Guest mjp753 Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Thanks Seatkid, but I presume I have to get the unit out first? Quote
seatkid Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 No, did it in situ. Just poked around and in the little grill next to the display.. Quote
Guest mjp753 Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Tried the hoover and some poking around in that small grill with a brush but no joy for me! Any other ideas? After a short while it still starts 'humming ' - even after a/c is turned off? Quote
Guest mjp753 Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Update: whilst car in for service asked the mechanic (nonFord) to look at it. He said he would try to get a new fan motor. Unfortunately he said you can't buy it on its own - you need a new climate unit Quote
