Guest sian Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 My old Galaxy had a option on the on-board computer that showed how many miles to go before you need to refuel. My new Galaxy has a computer but this option has disappeared. Very annoying, this was the main use I had for the computer. Anybody have any background to this? Quote
HJT Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 I agree, very annoying. It's about the only thing I miss from my Mondeo Ghia. Howard Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 Don't understand - my 130ps has miles left on it - when I refuel it says 600+ miles remaining. Quote
Guest sian Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 What year/model is your car, mine is 2003 Galaxy V6 2.8? Definitely can't see the 'miles left' option on the computer in my model. Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 2003 TDi - 6 weeks old Look see... And for all you V6 owners out there....note that it appears to have 480 miles to run and has covered 178 miles already...tee hee. Quote
asimons Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 It's true, the new Galaxy doesn't have "Range" on it, even though the current Alhambra clearly does. Another subtle difference between the Ford and the Seat/VW. Don't know why, but maybe it's to do with credibility - a friend who ran out of fuel on the motorway was assured by the on board computer that he still had 60 miles left! (Not in a Galaxy though). Guest SA Intruder Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 The one pictured seems pretty good. The gauge is almost linear too, unlike my previous Mundano which ran for ages without much gauge action and then plumetted. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 ...and the speedo's calibrated to 160mph; should be fun in a TDI!!! Quote
