Sunroof

Just bought a galaxy and the sunroof wont shut , it goes forward and back but stops just above the wind visor , can it be shut manually until i can get it fixed?

 

help urgently needed.

you could shut it manually,but you may break the motor,best bet,go to a garage.is there anything obstructing the rim?causing it to jam?

Usually there is a plastic blanking plate in the roof lining in front of the sunroof. Prising it off should reveal a hidden handle and a hole into which this should be put and turned, to open or close the sunroof manually in the case of an electrical failure.

you need to remove the interior light and the trim panel it sits in, under there is the motor for the sun roof, clipped to the side of the motor is an allen key

look at the motor unit and you will see a hole the allen key fits in, stick it in and wind in the required direction till the sun roof is closed

then you could try opening and shutting it again from the switch to see if it works correctly or not? if not manually close it and ring the dealers :blink: unless you fancy dropping the head lineing and seeing if you can re align it all up correctly again
