Rear Tailgate Electric Problems

I posted a few days ago and cannot see the listing.

For info the tailgate rear lock was not working and the wiper playing up a bit.

suggeted to look at the hinge point for the electrics.!!!!!!

 

A result guys.

 

For info - looking from the rear, the right hand rubber grommet unclips by squeesing the flats and pulls back. Peeling off the cloth binding tape i found one wire had broken ( tailgate locking) along with 6 others which had cracked insulation!!!! On a 3 year old car!!! Copper wire everywhere - unbelievable. A few insulating tape strips and a soldering iron and all was well but any suggestions on trying my luck with Seat? Not good enough as a major electrical fault could have developed.
