IS THERE A BELT THAT NEEDS CHANGING AT ANY TIME.

THE BELT ON THE POWER STEERING IS MAKING A

NOISE BUT NOT A SCREETCHING ONE .

I THINK IT'S WHERE IT'S BEEN STEAM CLEANED

IS IT OK TO PUT A BIT OF OIL ONTO IT TO

STOP IT RUBBING & MAKING A NOISE ??

CAR'S DONE 65K

Putting oil on it is a good way to ruin it. It should be handled with kid-gloves and kept as clean and dry as possible.

If it's been steam-cleaned I'd get the belt changed and the tensioner checked at the same time - steaming may have stretched the belt and/or affected the bearings in the tensioner (and other bits....)

well m8

i got the car about 3 week's ago

from a garage & the engine was gleaming as you can imagine so

i recon it was steam cleaned or similar.

it look's fine to me but that don't mean much if it gives

up on me.

what sort of money doe's it cost to replace one m8

it's a 1997 2.0 glx
