Hello chaps, forum virgin Tosh here looking for some help.

I have recently moved from Scotland to Australia and i have taken my 99 Galaxy 1.9 TDi with me, which is proving to be more trouble than i had ever believed. 1st problem is that there are no Galaxys over here, or Alhambras or Sharans so each time I take it to a Ford garage they look at the car and go wot is that!

Anyway my immediate problem is that the aircon has packed up and in 35 degree heat with young kids and a dog this is a serious issue, for us.

My local aircon specialist is having big problems finding the low side fitting to be able to refill the gas R134A, It is obvious where the high side fitting is when you open the bonnet but we just cant find the low side one. Can anyone post a photo or give me detailed directions/instructions to give my mechanic so we can fill her up and get ourselves back in the comfort zone??

Many thanks

Thanks Proff, you were spot on there, up and running again but now the air con in the back does not seem to be working, I turn the dial on up on the roof and nothing happens. any thoughts?

I am not having a good week, i managed to stick my key in the passanger door handle on Sunday and had to strip the key barrell down to remove it and in doing so i broke off numerous bit that were very corroded. Any ideas of somewhere in the UK that i can buy spare parts and that would send them abroad, any websites etc?

Thanks

roof dial = no rear AC only a recirc heater unit

easiest option for replacing the passenger side door handle is to replace it with a read door handle! no lock/key barrel to replace  try .eurocarparts or gsfcarparts both company's do mail order although wether or they are willing to ship over sea's ius another matter?

Doh! and Doooh!

stopped trying to get blood from a stone or cold air from a heater! and replaced rear door handle for knackered passanger one. It was a real piain in the posterior opening the door for my wife twice a day.

thanks Fred
