Well, actually, yes.

You say you work for PSA but you buy a Ford.

Your salary which keeps you and your family in mortgage payments, food and other nessesites is paid from people buying PSA cars but you use this money to buy a competitors vehicle.

Hypocryte come to mind.

I installed some of the production lines that build the cars where Trevor works! I also have worked on the Jaguar plants in Coventry and worked for a top F1 team along with working for the MOD, several govenment departments drug and phamacutical companies (of which these companies partake or have used animals in their testing proccess  ) all of these companies payed me for my time and yet I choose to or not as the case may be, to buy their products or in the case of the government work I didnt vote for those in power at the time yet I took their money :D

does that make me a hypocrite as I havent got a Jag, cant stand F1, dont drive a tank, dont feed drugs to the cat! or run the country!..............yet

Hi All,

No he's not a hypocryte. PSA pay him to use his skills to produce their cars the they sell as a business. What you suggest is complete madness that you should always buy your companies products, what about people that work in pharmaceuticals or tobacco etc etc would they have to become drug addicts and chain smokers? You could take this further, you live in the UK and YOU bought a foreign car so using your theory, the UK protects you, educates you, provides medical care BUT YOU didn't buy one of it's 'in house' products (yes I know it's nearly impossible now but it illustrates the point).

PSA only have the money to pay him by people buying their products. by NOT buying the product which keeps the wolf from his door, he is letting down himself and his fellow workers.

The analogy about pahrmaceuticles and tobacco industries is a spurious one, as he3 is not saying that he buys alternative products in t5ha feild to the one he works in!

Every other country in the world understands that if you do not buy your own products, then tyou will have no economy to give you the cushion of welfare and education, only in this country can you find this idiot attitude that to buy foriegn over UK built produced products is better.

Yesterday, Jaguar workers marched in Coventry as their jobs are going (Something Ford has done time and time again in the UK) away, but I have to say, surprise, surprise, as when you go around Browns lane it is amazing how many have bought non UK built vehicles for their own use, and now are surprised that their job is now going! It like all these Daewoo, BMW buying call centre staff now crying that their jobs are going to India.

Sorry, but charity begins at home. You buy UK built products, you have something to moan about.

As a matter of interest, what job do you do? Please tell me so I can buy a cheaper foreign service that costs you your job.

And people working for Galaxo can't take any medicine from other manufacturers. Those at Twyfords cant' have a dump in anyone elses pan. MacDonalds staff can't eat any other food.

Hypocrits the lot of them.

Its a good job you don't work for Lada.

I think the accepted concept is that companies who produce crap products are encouraged to produce better products elso go out of business. Thats progress for ya!

Why is it hypocritical not to buy your employers' product? You do a good job for them, you get paid, you spend your money as you see fit. Recognizing that your employers' product is not the best on the market is not hypocritical (unless of course you're a salesman telling other people to buy it because it is the best on the market). It might be disloyal I suppose, but I'm not sure that many employers treat their staff well enough to expect loyalty outside the workplace.

What job do I do? I actually have three, 2 paid and one voluntary.

The main day job I work in a school of Technology as a network manager looking after 250 PC's, 3 servers and 600 pupils. I get involved in teaching from time to time. Not a lot of ways I can use my employers products here except one of my boys goes to my school, the other boy goes to another school in town so I suppose the fact that the local council employ me and operate both schools I'm covered by your rules.

The next job which used to be my main job is I'm M.D. of a computer consultancy that I started, I have created employment for 14 people and have a turnover of around

When I was a student, I knew a girl who did a Saturday job in McDonalds - she told me that based on what she saw working there, she would never eat one of their burgers (but wouldn't elaborate any more).

She wasn't my type, anyway.

And most new houses are urinated in anything up to 100 times by the lads on site

(before the wc pan goes in that is)

BTW excellent CV, totally pointless information, but excellent all the same

VAriety they say is the spice of life, we should all live a good long time on here !

My viewpoint is very simple, my company makes products and provides services to other companies, we do this by buying time and skills from people i.e. staff. We then sell on those skills at an increased price which makes our profit. The company does as it sees fit with the profit (thats why I have a shiny black TDi 115) why on earth should I require my staff to buy our products ? no need, they've done their bit, they do in fact buy our products because we're always cheaper (trade price) and they know theyre top quality (we're not the cheapest on PC's but we are the best in the area from a quality point of view).

This was in response to AlanA saying he wanted to do all he could to make me loose my job..... What a nice chap, Merry Christmas :(

Hi AlanA,

You say I should buy a PSA car because I work for them, now I will tell you why I will not buy the 807.

I have had Peugeot cars for the last 8 years a few of the cars I have had are 306,206,307 and the 307sw all these cars are some of the best small/medium cars on the market but from feedback from people that I work with who own the 806/7 is nothing but bad one of the lads has had his 807 in the garage a total of 11 times in the last 7 months with various problems.

On a final note what right have you got telling me what I should buy, did I say I would not buy a peugeot NO did I say all peugeots were rubbish NO in fact they have a very good range but I had the choice of both Ford and Peugeot as my Mother works for Ford and after looking at both cars I felt that the Galaxy was the better car out of the two, so just keep your views to your self.

P.S I have 2 jobs the other is working for VIBE Audio and they are the best in car audio.

P.P.S and I only Gross

Hi All,

Has AlanA been online since he got a bit of a roasting from the other members of this furum, I would not like to think we had put him off this great site.

It would be a shame,

Trevor.

When one makes such a comment one should be prepared for the flames that will come back. No need for him to leave but he should have expected the replies that he got.

Merry Christmas - JB
