Xenonman Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 How do I get another? The dealer wants a part number which i don't have. Quote
chromedome Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I've seen a genuine Ford kit (4 x locking nuts, 1 x key) on E-Bay recently, about Quote
Guest andeee Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Go here for a set of locking wheel nuts and key on Ebay. 99p at the moment but with six days to go.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...2495846895&rd=1 Quote
Xenonman Posted October 19, 2004 Author Report Posted October 19, 2004 Sorry I wasn't clear, the actual locking nut key is missing. Quote
chromedome Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 As far as I know you can't get it seperately. You'll have to remove the old locking nuts, somehow, and replace them. Perhaps someone on this forum will tell you how to remove them. Quote
Guest fredt Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 There are tools available to remove locking wheel nuts, your local tyre fitters should have a set and will most likely remove them for you for a small fee! or do it your self by hammering a socket over the nut and undoing it! its how I did mine :D its cheap and it works :D Quote
RussT Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I had the same problem on all four wheels when I went to get a new set of tyres. We took 3 off with normal socket hammered on, but the forth had to be chiseled off.Hence I replace them with normal studs.Ok I lost the security of having my Alloys pinched. But the thiefs have all the equipment they need to getting the security nuts off.. (so why do we bother putting them on)And I have got peace of mind that if I get a punture on a dark winters night I know I can the wheel off. :D Quote
