Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 I would be interested in upgrading, can you post the URL please - looked at the 80 hour version but that was Quote
Guest MATT Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 I will be getting Sky+ soon, been looking into it all and it should be good, just got to scrape a few pennies together first. I have seen articles on increasing the size of the Hard Drive, i see it as being an all or nothing situation, you will either damage the digital circuitry with a static discharge, or you will do it right, and you will have plenty of space. Your mission if you choose to accept it. Quote
Guest carliterature Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 I have now temporarily fixed the speaker buzzing by removing it (as suggested above) and unplugging it. Will probably seek a replacement although the sound from the speakers has barely changed since disconnection!! Although I'm at best a complete novice with regards to electricals, I'm fairly sure there's no earthing problem. Cheers Keith/carliterature Quote
Guest carliterature Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 I know this somewhat defeats the object of having it, but on Sky+, can you record to VHS or DVD something you are playing back from the HDD recording on Sky+. Just read that back and confused myself... Let me illustrate: One has Sky+ installed and records a programme to the HDD within the Sky+ box. If on playback that person then thinks "oh, I'd like to keep this long term", can it then be played again and recorded onto VHS tape (or DVD if one has a DVD recorder)? Cheers Keith/carliterature Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 Yes, you have the option of keeping it on the sky box or recording it onto VHS/DVD if you choose, there is a transfer option on the list of things to do on the recorded listings not tried it yet but it says something like for you to load up the recording device and press the transfer button and it does it all for you or something like that? Another?Maybe! Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Looks like we've got off the topic chaps with this Sky thing! I need help/advice... Have a metallic rattle from in the dash somewhere. Sounds like something is loose, ie not clipped down or tight enough, pipe or linkage... suspicion is that it's something to do with the wipers linkage as banging a fist under the bonnet under the windscreen seems to reproduce the sound... I think. But looks like the nuts holding the wiper arms have to come off before the shroud over the linkage can be got at... I think!Any ideas/advice? It's definitely a rattle rather than a buzz so can't blame the bees. PeteR Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 Ok then back on topic................are you sure your LNB mounting bolt is tight ? yes? ok then IIRC the end peices of the black plastic trim under the windscreen should pop off with out removeing the wiper arms, it's when you want to remove the center part that the wiper arms have to come off, are you sure someone hasnt left a tool up under the scuttle? on my Golf I used to get a rattle and a thud every so often! it turned out some one had left a Tee bar extension under the scuttle cover that used to roll around every so often! also try padding out certain areas around the wiper mech and under the scuttle area with rags etc to see if you can locate the cause? as yours is a MK2 you could remove the upper glove boxes and take a trip with them removed to see if the sound gets louder? or you can locate the cause Quote
