Hi I am newbie on this site & already learned a thing or two, had the bus now for 12 months (99 2.3 Si -Silver --under the dirt). Commute 120+ miles per day, consumption OK'ish but I don't expect it to be that good lugging a couple of tons of metal around under the guidance of my lead boot! -- Its nice to be able to outdrag a few BMWs now & then at the lights.

My problem -- sometimes when I have lifted my foot off the throttle to stop at lights & junctions the engine revs die right off & don't always pick up again, this may happen twice a day or twice a week but it is annoying having to restart the thing just when there is gap in the traffic or the lights change.

The engine runs smoothly, idles at the right speed (no hunting), starts well & goes like a (large) rocket.

HELP PLEASE

I have also found that I am not the only on with a squeaky Aux drive belt, dicky reversing light switch & failed door locks (drivers door).

---------- So far no passengers wet feet !!!!!!!!--------

Cheers

Had a similar problem with mine last year, especially when the car was hot. Had a mobile engine tune man look at it. After about an hour of head scratching and no faults showing on the ecu, he found that the lambda sensor wasn't switching correctly and changed it. Been ok since

This one can be closed.

I just removed the Idle Control Valve, cleaned all of the c@*p out of it (a good squirt of WD40) & made sure that the spindle & spring were moving freely. Refitted it & I have not had any problems for month. So ta for the suggestions.

Cheers all
