Guest Scott Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 I've just had a look for mine Fredt, mines a '99 Ghia X as well - and can't see anything near the mirror at all (though I know this is where the instructions tell you to point the key when programming it...). Can anyone say where theirs is - or post a photo even better? ~ Scott Quote
Guest emjay Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 I'm watching this with interest cos I need to find out as well, I still haven't found out if my 98 V6 has remote locking or not? Quote
professor_ross Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Early cars had infra -red remote control - remote key fob had small hole pointing forwards with led (like your tv remote) and pick-up sensors by mirror and on roof at rear door. Later cars (from 98 on I think) had radio remote control so no sensors to be seen. They use basic wire aerial - probably as part of wiring harness somewhere. hope this helps. Quote
