Cruise Control

I've just had my cruise control fixed and the light on the dashboard does not illuminate.

 

I have checked with the dealer who say certain models didn't have the light fitted depending on date of manufacture.

 

Can anybody confirm this?

This has come up before on the forum. Some versions have the light functioning, some, like mine, don't. Apparently all the necessary gubbins is there on all versions, and with access to the diagnostics, one can activate it; God knows why it isn't activated on all cars fitted with cruise control.

Which gives me an opportunity to ask again, how do you enable the light using diagnostics? I have diagnostics, but no light!

My '01 2.3 Ghia does not have a light that works despite one being shown in the handbook. However the Cruise Control does not work properly either, so maybe it is supposed to not come on if there is a fault.

Mr T. If you find out you can come and do mine ha, ha, ha.

 

My cruise control was not working when I got the vehicle so I assumed that was the reason the light didn't work.

 

Now the cruise has been fix, new pump and pipe, the light still isn't there.

 

I thought this might be a safety issue!!!!!!

Last time this came up, we had several replies on whose light worked and whose didn't. I've driven at least 3 Galaxys with cruise fitted that worked (including my own one) and on none of them did the light work.

Well my light does work 2003 TDi Ghia Auto.

Xenon Lights

AND Working Cruise Control Light :blink: )
